Functional requirements analysis
To support professional software engineering and development process, our consultants create exact lists of rules and narrative software behavior descriptions, including user interface specifications, and submit for user sign-off. Requirements for functional changes after the user sign-off are carefully analyzed and assessed for technical feasibility and impact to the SW project timeline and cost and change management procedures are triggered if needed.
Software platforms and tools
GISDATA uses and supports contemporary world-leading industry-standard technologies and tools, such as ESRI GIS SW tools, ERDAS remote sensing and photogrammetry technology, Trimble GPS SW as well as a number of mainstream IT tools from ORACLE, Microsoft , IBM, SUN and others. Specific toolsets used include ArcGIS – ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ERDAS Imagine, StereoAnalyst, etc. Development platforms include .NET – ASP and C#, C++, VisualBasic and VBA, Delphi, Java, JavaScript, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Informix, IBM DB2, and MS Access.
Software design and development
While supporting the creativity of its software designers and developers, GISDATA follows a structured software engineering process, with emphasis on quality, time and budget and SW release management and maintainability. GISDATA successfully designs and develops software solutions, either standard off-the-shelf products or custom applications systems tailored to user needs.
Web application development
As is the case with many delivered web sites at our users’ systems, we continue to develop interactive Web based and distributed general IT and GIS professional solutions. These solutions enable several levels of access depending on functionality and investments in Internet/Intranet provision for individual, government, local administration and business sectors. The services span from conceptual and graphical design of informative Web sites to highly interactive applications that integrate with the complex data content and back-office mission critical systems.
Systems integration and installation
GISDATA successfully integrated systems that utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS), RDBMS, GPS, Automated Vehicle Tracking (AVT), Image Processing, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), SCADA, and industry standard HW and operating systems. The level of quality we achieved demands that we do it professionally, on time, and within specification, helping avoid delays and surprises.
Pre-and post-implementation training
Over more that 16 years, several thousand individual users attended GISDATA software and methods training courses. Pre-implementation training introduces general terms and concepts to the participants to have them better communicate and cooperate in further project phases. Post-implementation training courses enable the end users to efficiently use the solution, and the administrators to be able to support the system and the users. |
